Call for Art: “ReVISION”

Looking at Old Things in New Ways!

Salem Arts Association presents “ReVISION”, an exhibition that asks the artist and viewer to “look at old things in new ways”. How would you ReTHINK, ReDefine, or ReIMAGINE your world. How can we RePURPOSE, ReCYCLE, and ReUSE objects to be seen in a new way. We’re asking artists to push the limits and present work that challenges perceptions or presents a new way of seeing old things, places, and ideas.

We welcome your interpretation of the theme from constructions and collage to paintings, photographs, or sculptures that challenge ways of seeing in new ways.

Exhibition Jurying: Salem Arts Gallery Committee representatives will jury this exhibit. Criteria will be based on execution quality and space available.

Awards: Our guest judge John Archer, will select submissions for awards. John Archer is an award-winning painter, Drawing teacher, President of the Danvers Arts Association, and owner of Archer Insurance of Beverly MA. Archer is a multidisciplinary artist working primarily in soft pastel, photography, and acrylic. His work can be found in public and private collections throughout New England. Archer's philosophy is that all the arts are intimately interrelated. Graphic arts must dance across the page or canvas, instrumentalists must sing, actors must sculpt their lines and scenes, and dancers must paint across the stage.
