An exhibition celebrating the New England maritime history, beautiful coastline, and historic connection to the sea.
Salem Arts Association is pleased to present a solo exhibition featuring paintings, sculptures, and dioramas created by Frank Nagorka.
Frank Nagorka has a passion for the Master artists of the Renaissance and their depiction of the human form. He is also interested in Greek Mythology and Biblical subjects. Frank transforms these themes in to modern versions of those subjects to bring the figure up-to-date to fit in and possibly shine in our modern world.
Artist Reception will be hosted at the Salem Arts Gallery on Friday July 6 from 5-8 PM

Salem Arts Association is pleased to present a solo exhibition featuring paintings and Woodcuts by Raymond Gilbert.
Working in multiple mixed medium paintings and woodcuts Gilbert’s work draws much from current life events creating contemporary historical paintings. His creative process generally starts by throwing sweeping lines and pulling out abstract forms which begin to materialize into a basic composition. A work is deemed finished when a coherent balance between color, space and form has been accomplished.

Want to unpack a big idea or symbolically analyze a future plan? Maybe you'd like to explore the meaning of a word, or creatively brainstorm solutions to something that's been itching at you. Come discover the organizational process of visual and verbal mapping using techniques of textual branching, expressive lettering, and symbolic illustration. Plan to use black and white pens, then color markers on 8x10 paper. Learn to breathe, journey inside, and gain expressive clarity on an idea.
Salem Arts Association's Galleries and Artisan Shop are located at "The Bridge at 211" in Salem, MA. This facility provides the Salem Arts with excellent gallery exhibition space, a gallery shop, workshop area, and event facilities. This facility offers Salem Arts members, and the public, unprecedented exhibition and learning opportunities. Plus our home allows Salem Arts to take advantage of performance and event space available at “The Bridge” and better deliver our mission “To bring art, in all its forms, to the community and bring the community, in all its diversity, to the arts in Salem, Massachusetts.”
Salem Arts Scholarships are awarded each spring to a students pursuing the arts either through a university program or through an art school. We offer two scholarships, The Paula Beaulieu Art Scholarship for $1000 to a Salem High School senior, and the Ellen Hardy Memorial Scholarships for $500 to any Salem resident graduating from a Salem school.
