An exhibition of the En Plein Air creations will be included in a special exhibition of Salem Arts Members at the Visitors Center of the Salem National Maritime Historic Site where more that 4000 people per weekend will enjoy the artworks.

Salem Art Association presents “Untold Stories” an exhibition inspired by two current Peabody Essex Museum exhibitions, “The Last Empresses of China: The Forbidden City’s Untold Story” and “Sally Mann: A Thousand Crossings.” Local artists present their untold stories, hidden relationships and familiar connections.
Our featured performer will be Masashi Nakamura -Guitar, Vocals. Born in Fukuoka, Japan Graduate, Berklee College of Music. Voted Best Guitarist in 1988 Yamaha Band Explosion Contest, Hagi City Area, Japan. His Group won Best Band award in same contest (1986-1988) Won 2nd place in Yamaha classical guitar Competition, Kyusha Area, Japan (1989) Performances with Slide Hampton, Robert Stanton, Shane Phillips, Sandra Rodrigues,The Ethiopian Reggae Band, Clarence Thompson Sr. and the New Spirits Appeared at SXSW (Austin, Texas) & Mob Fest (Chicago) Conferences, World Hunger Year (NY)

Call for Art: “Dark Arts”
We're proud to announce a Call for Art for “Dark Arts”, a seasonal exhibition exploring Salem’s history with witchcraft, religion, and Halloween. Salem Arts encourages member artists to explore their interpretation of these themes in various mediums and styles.

Salem Arts Association will have a 10x10 mobile shop in a prime location on Essex street during the Creative Collective October Market.
The Market, containing more than 100 vendors on Essex and Derby streets, will be three weekends prior to Halloween from 11am -5 pm.
October 13 & 14, October 20 & 21, and October 27 & 28.
Salem Arts Association members are invited to submit work to be sold at the market. Items such as prints, jewelry, pottery, and other small art pieces as well as Salem Arts Association merchandise.

The Holiday Artists’ Market will be Saturday, November 24& Sunday November 25, 2018, with spaces of approx. 8’x 6’ for juried vendors with their artwork and creations. Spaces start at only $85.

Come discover the organizational process of visual and verbal mapping using techniques of textual branching, expressive lettering, and symbolic illustration. Plan to use black and white pens, then color markers on 8x10 paper. Learn to breathe, journey inside, and gain expressive clarity on an idea.
Salem Arts Association's Galleries and Artisan Shop are located at "The Bridge at 211" in Salem, MA. This facility provides the Salem Arts with excellent gallery exhibition space, a gallery shop, workshop area, and event facilities. This facility offers Salem Arts members, and the public, unprecedented exhibition and learning opportunities. Plus our home allows Salem Arts to take advantage of performance and event space available at “The Bridge” and better deliver our mission “To bring art, in all its forms, to the community and bring the community, in all its diversity, to the arts in Salem, Massachusetts.”
Salem Arts Scholarships are awarded each spring to a students pursuing the arts either through a university program or through an art school. We offer two scholarships, The Paula Beaulieu Art Scholarship for $1000 to a Salem High School senior, and the Ellen Hardy Memorial Scholarships for $500 to any Salem resident graduating from a Salem school.
